Mine is prepared with an organic, malty tasting Assam from Rani Estate…with a luxurious vanilla bean ice cream (instead of milk 🙂 )…make it petite – three or four bites and you are good to go…what a great idea, thanks Martha.

I enjoyed testing out this perfect bite dessert…or afternoon pick-me-up…it was like having iced tea with sweet cream mmmmm

I bought the teeniest Haagen Daz container (only 18 carbs for the whole thing and I used about 2/3's of the carton for my test recipe here...it was creamy, cool, rich with Assam malt flavor from my hot organic Assam tea from Mighty Leaf. This will be a go to afternoon tea staple when friends just want a bite and tea and sweet!

One scoop…pour fresh, hot whole leaf tea, have a spoon ready and eat up…or drink up…last photo is the end result…all gone 🙁

  1. Hey, where’s mine?

    • O.K. I have to tell the truth…I bought two of those teeny Haagen Dazs ice cream containers and hid one in the outside freezer…so there is some for you …it was my back up in case I messed up the first one.

  2. I LOVE affogato, so I’m gonna have to try this!

    • It was so good! Seriously. I even added more tea to melt the ice cream faster and it was cool and warm and creamy and wonderful…you will love this for sure!

  3. Why has this never occurred to me? It seems so obvious now that you point it out, and it looks wonderful. Thank you! 🙂

    • Yes, it never occurred to me either! When I saw the photo in Martha’s magazine it struck me as a natural. Wouldn’t a vanilla chai hot tea poured over vanilla bean ice cream be a nice one to try out next? I can see this being something we should experiment with..and change up the ice cream flavors too…a new tasting menu concept maybe???? 🙂
